What is Digital Fine Art

Unlike certain digital painting effects that can be achieved with a A.I. and/or a few mouse clicks and filters, Hand Rendered Mixed Media art is created by extracting a subject(s) from a photograph, creating new backgrounds, details and lighting to enhance the subject(s) and draw out the emotions; then painting it in its entirety….e v e r y last pixel. 

It is a complex and detailed process using referenced image(s). Various painting techniques and tools are used to make it a one of a kind hand-rendered work of art. This is accomplished by using a computer screen as the canvas, a tablet as a palette and digital art pen as the brushes. Many hours, sometimes days/weeks (depending upon the complexities and size of the final painting) are then spent changing backgrounds, light directions, colors, enhancing features, adding depth, highlight, and dimension. This technique closely imitates traditional oil or acrylic painting on canvas. The final printed result can look photo realistic, painterly or a combination of the two depending upon the desire of the artist and or client, to achieve the look that will stir the emotions and forever seal the memories on canvas.
